Duka Meets Trump Special Envoy Paolo Zampolli to Discuss Sports Diplomacy

President of the Albanian Football Federation (FSHF) Armand Duka met today with Paolo Zampolli, US President Donald Trump’s Special Envoy for Global Partnerships.

Zampolli is visiting Tirana as part of a wider tour. During his visit, he has met representatives of state institutions, political leaders and other stakeholders in Albania.

During the meeting, Duka and Zampolli discussed the role of sport, especially football, in sports diplomacy. They also examined how sport can strengthen international relations and promote a country’s image worldwide.

Duka briefed the special envoy on the progress of Albanian football in recent years. He highlighted the transformation of sports infrastructure, higher organizational standards and Albania’s growing presence in international football competitions and institutions.

They also discussed the importance of Albania’s representation in European and global football bodies. Duka currently serves as UEFA Vice President and as a member of the UEFA Executive Committee. He also represents Albania at FIFA as a member of the Member Associations Committee.

Meanwhile, Zampolli praised Duka’s contribution to the development of Albanian football and his role in representing Albania internationally. He stressed that sport can build bridges between countries and communities.

Later, Zampolli visited the House of Football, the FSHF’s modern sports complex. During the tour, he explored its facilities and expressed his positive impression of the investment and the quality of the sports infrastructure.

The visit also allowed Zampolli to see one of the key projects behind the transformation of Albanian football. Today, the House of Football serves as an FSHF activity center and supports football development, education and promotion in Albania.

The meeting highlighted sport’s potential as a tool for diplomacy, cooperation and international promotion. It also underlined the growing role Albanian football can play in strengthening Albania’s presence on the global stage.
