Edi Rama praises Mario Draghi: Symbol of European courage in decision-making

Edi Rama attended the Charlemagne Prize ceremony in Aachen, Germany, where Mario Draghi was honored.

In an interview with Deutsche Welle, Rama described his participation as a special privilege. He praised Draghi as a key European figure in moments of crisis and difficult decision-making.

Rama said Draghi represents European courage in taking action when hesitation is the easier option. Furthermore, he added that Draghi’s speech was a strong message about Europe’s future.

He noted that Europe is facing more difficult conditions but also greater opportunities. The Charlemagne Prize is one of Europe’s most prestigious awards.

It has been given since 1950 to individuals and institutions contributing to European unity and progress. This year, Draghi was honored for his role in preserving the stability of the European Monetary Union.

The award also highlighted that Europe’s future, sovereignty and strength depend on economic stability.
