Egnatia defeated Partizani 2-1 in the fifth week of Albania’s Kategoria Superiore, returning to winning ways after last week’s loss to Elbasani.
The Albanian champions took the lead in the 31st minute. Loukili found the net to make it 1-0. Egnatia continued to control the game and doubled its lead in the 71st minute. Albanese scored to put the Rrogozhina side 2-0 ahead.
Partizani responded immediately. Just two minutes later, Murataj pulled one goal back to make it 2-1. The Reds pushed for an equalizer in the final minutes. However, Egnatia held on to its lead until the final whistle.
Meanwhile, the result marked Partizani’s second consecutive league defeat. The team had also lost to Elbasani in the previous round.
Partizani will face Tirana in the next round. The capital derby is scheduled for October 11.
