Elbasan sports complex gets renovated natural grass pitch

TIRANA, August 31 – The natural grass pitch at the Shefqet Lamçja sports complex in Elbasan has completed renovation, adding another quality facility to the country’s sports infrastructure.

The project included a new base, a modern drainage system, a water reservoir and an irrigation system. Workers also planted natural grass during the final stage.

The pitch will serve as one of the venues for the UEFA European Under-21 Championship, which Albania will host in 2027. Meanwhile, Elbasan Municipality has also upgraded other parts of the complex, including the changing rooms.

The investment provides Elbasan with a modern football facility. It also forms part of ongoing efforts to upgrade sports infrastructure for national and international events in Albania.
