EU Calls for Quick Government Formation in Kosovo

Eva Palatova called for the rapid formation of a new government in Kosovo following the June 7 elections.

Speaking during Europe Day activities in Prishtina, Palatova also urged political parties to reach a compromise on electing the country’s president.

She stressed that the future government should have a strong parliamentary majority to continue reforms linked to the European agenda.

“We need to see a quick formation of institutions, with a government that has a strong majority in parliament,” Palatova said.

In addition, she highlighted the importance of healthy interparty compromise to ensure political stability and advance reforms.

Furthermore, Palatova underlined the value of Kosovo’s multiethnic character. She said all communities should feel they have a future and a home in the country.

Meanwhile, she noted that European capitals closely follow Kosovo’s commitment to cooperation among ethnic communities and democratic development.

The remarks came during events marking Europe Day.
