EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos to visit Prishtina on Friday

TIRANA, May 14 – European Union Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos will visit Prishtina on Friday. The trip marks her first visit to Kosova since she took office in 2024. She arrives on Thursday evening from London, where she holds two meetings earlier in the day.

Kos will hold three meetings during the visit. She meets acting President Albulena Haxhiu and acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti. A joint press appearance with Kurti is scheduled for 11:30 local time. She also meets civil society representatives. No meeting with opposition parties appears in the programme.

Kos had planned the visit for March, but authorities cancelled it due to political developments in Kosovo. Earlier in Bratislava, she told the Friends of the Western Balkans group that European security depends on regional stability. She also warned that external actors could undermine EU integration efforts.
