EU Integration: France Reaffirms Support for Enlargement

Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha met with France’s Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, René Troccaz, during his stay in Pržno, Montenegro.

The talks focused on Albania’s accession process to the European Union, developments in the Western Balkans, as well as the strategic importance of strengthening regional cooperation, connectivity and security.

In a post on social media platform X, Hoxha said that Albania and France have built an excellent partnership based on shared European values, highlighting France’s support for Albania’s European perspective.

“France’s continued support for Albania’s European path, as well as its active commitment to a credible and merit-based enlargement process, is of strategic importance not only for Albania, but also for the future of the Western Balkans and Europe as a whole.

We remain determined to work closely with France to strengthen the region’s European perspective, consolidate stability and security, and bring the Western Balkans firmly and irreversibly closer to the European Union,” Hoxha said.
