Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports Blendi Gonxhja took part in the “European Week of Sport – Be Active Live from the Art Park” event. He highlighted the need to create more sports spaces and activities in local neighborhoods.
Gonxhja thanked the participants and said the event aims to bring a new atmosphere to the community, going beyond entertainment.
“We wanted you to join us not only as friends in the courtyard of our new home, the headquarters of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports behind you. The ministry also has a sports department that is working to deliver better projects, infrastructure and social activities,” Gonxhja said.
He stressed that sports activities should also bring communities to life and give citizens more opportunities in the areas where they live.
“We wanted not only to have fun, but also to bring an atmosphere to this neighborhood that has been missing,” the minister said.
Gonxhja also called for more sports spaces and activities in neighborhoods. He said social and sporting life should not focus only on city centers.
“We must work to create more spaces and bring more activity to our neighborhoods. We need to move beyond the city center,” Gonxhja said.
