TIRANA, April 28 – The expanded section of the Tirana–Durrës motorway up to the Rinas (TIA) overpass has fully opened to vehicle traffic.
Prime Minister Edi Rama, together with Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Enea Karakaçi, inspected the road section, which has now been upgraded to a Category A motorway.
Minister Karakaçi said the section now includes two additional lanes. He added that authorities have also contracted the next phase of works. This phase starts from the Rinas (TIA) overpass and extends to the Laknas overpass.
He said work will soon continue on further sections of the axis towards Durrës. He also referred to segments of the Blue Corridor, including Kashar–Lekaj and Lekaj–Fier.
Karakaçi added that the winner of the Milot–Balldren tender is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
