TIRANA, April 27 – Albanian ballet dancer Kledi Kadiu, widely known for his career in Italy, has announced the first edition of the International Ballet Competition Albania in Tirana.
The initiative will take place with support from the National Ballet School, the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports, and the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet.
Organisers said the programme will run over two days in December. A workshop will take place on December 4 at the National Ballet School, followed by the competition on December 5 at the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet.
The event aims to position the country within the international ballet circuit and attract young dancers from different countries. It also seeks to strengthen its presence in major artistic competitions.
An international jury and teaching team will include Frederic Olivieri, Paola Vismara, and Michele Merola.
Kadiu said the project marks the beginning of a long-term initiative focused on developing young talent and promoting international artistic exchange.
