Fire breaks out between Tërbaç and Vranisht, Tavo: Ground and air crews respond in Himarë

A wildfire broke out this afternoon in an area between the villages of Tërbaç and Vranisht, in the Municipality of Himarë. Firefighters and aerial units are working to contain and extinguish the flames.

Himarë Mayor Vangjel Tavo said local firefighting teams are on the ground with specialized vehicles. They are working to isolate the fire and prevent it from spreading. Aircraft are also supporting the operation to bring the situation under control as quickly as possible.

Smoke and ash have reached parts of central Himarë due to the fire and weather conditions. The temporary spread has affected air quality. Tavo stressed that there are no fires in Himarë’s coastal area and said the situation there remains calm.

The Municipality of Himarë is monitoring the situation and will continue to provide updates on the fire and firefighting efforts.
