Fire in Residential Building in Tirana: Military Helicopter Deployed to Contain Flames

A major fire broke out in a residential building in Tirana, near the Mother Teresa University Hospital Center (QSUT), prompting a large-scale emergency response.

Army forces intervened with a helicopter to help extinguish the flames and bring the situation under control in the area near the hospital.

Due to the thick smoke, four people — two civilians and two firefighters — were taken to the emergency unit at QSUT with signs of asphyxiation.

The fire engulfed the facade of a building in the area known as “Farmacia 10,” opposite the hospital. Despite a rapid response, the flames remained active for several minutes, while dense smoke spread across the surrounding area.

Firefighters and police units are on the scene, evacuating residents who were still inside the building at the time the fire broke out.

Authorities described the situation as serious, as emergency services continue efforts to fully contain the blaze and ensure the safety of residents.
