TIRANA, August 14 – The wildfire situation in Kruja has improved significantly over the past 24 hours. The remaining active fires in Abaze and Gryka e Vajës are burning at much lower intensity.
Kruja Mayor Artur Bushi said teams have tackled the fires from the air and on the ground. Helicopters, emergency teams and local residents have supported the response.
Meanwhile, authorities continue to monitor the situation closely. A joint team is stationed in Abaze, bringing together Kruja firefighters, civil emergency services, protected-area staff and ground forces. The team will continue monitoring the area and intervene when necessary.
Bushi also thanked the Abaze community for its strong solidarity and involvement during the past days. He described the community response as an example for others facing similar situations.
