FM Hoxha meets Serbian counterpart in Washington, D.C., raises concerns over Kosova remarks

TIRANA, July 17 – Foreign Minister Ferit Hoxha met Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Duric in Washington, D.C., on the sidelines of the Ministerial on the resurgence of political terrorism.

The two ministers exchanged views on current developments and future prospects.

Meanwhile, Hoxha said he reaffirmed Albania’s position on what he described as unacceptable statements made recently by a member of the Serbian government about Kosova.

In a post on X, Hoxha said Albania firmly rejects rhetoric that fuels tensions, undermines regional stability and cooperation, and contradicts the principles of good neighbourly relations and European values.

In addition, he stressed the need to reject such statements without ambiguity.

Finally, Hoxha said diplomacy requires open dialogue and responsible engagement. He added that meaningful diplomacy means facing reality, addressing differences directly and maintaining communication even when disagreements remain.
