During his stay in New York, Foreign Minister Ferit Hoxha met with Daniel Lawton, U.S. deputy assistant secretary for Western, Central and Southern European Affairs. The meeting focused on strengthening the strategic partnership between Albania and the United States. They also discussed the importance of close and continued coordination on shared priorities.
Hoxha and Lawton also discussed current developments and dynamics in the Western Balkans. Hoxha said the meeting took place one day after Albania and the United States signed the Artemis Accords. He said they discussed opportunities to further strengthen their strategic partnership, regional developments and coordination on shared priorities. Hoxha also said the partnership remains an important pillar of their joint commitment as NATO allies.
According to Hoxha, a strong Albania-United States partnership remains important for their shared commitment to a safer, more stable and more prosperous region.
