Albania’s Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, met today with the newly appointed U.S. Ambassador to Albania, Eric Wendt.
Hoxha described the United States as one of Albania’s closest and most valued strategic partners.
“Our relationship rests on shared democratic values, a strong security partnership within NATO, and a long-standing friendship between our peoples,” Hoxha said.
He also highlighted the United States’ role at key moments in Albania’s history. According to Hoxha, that support has left a lasting mark and continues to provide a strong foundation for the two countries’ strategic partnership.
The minister also said he expects close cooperation with Ambassador Wendt to further strengthen bilateral ties. This includes expanding economic and investment opportunities, reinforcing cooperation on regional security and stability, and addressing global challenges that require close coordination among allies.
“For Albania, EU membership, our main national priority, and a strong and lasting transatlantic partnership go hand in hand. We remain fully committed to further strengthening our strategic partnership with the United States and our transatlantic ties in the years ahead,” Hoxha said.
Finally, Hoxha welcomed Ambassador Wendt and wished him success in his mission. He also expressed his readiness for close, productive and lasting cooperation.
