From Germany to Albania: Three Young Professionals Present Projects on “Flasim”

Edi Rama hosted three young Albanians in episode 23 of season 6 of the podcast “Flasim.” The guests, Xhoana Sita, Marin Shera, and Armand Shera, returned from Germany to invest and apply their experience in Albania.

First, Xhoana Sita, who works in workforce recruitment, explained that she returned to invest after several years in Germany. She said she now spends most of her time in Albania, as local businesses increasingly need labor. Moreover, she noted that the tourism and hospitality sector offers competitive salaries.

In addition, she highlighted that hotels and restaurants often prefer local workers first. Then, they recruit foreign staff when necessary. She also stated that her company brings between 80 and 100 foreign workers per month, and even more during the summer season.

Meanwhile, Marin Shera, a civil engineer living in Germany since 2012, shared his professional journey. He said he built a strong engineering foundation in Germany and now runs an engineering office. Furthermore, he explained that his team develops projects ranging from supercars to yachts and industrial products.

He added that bringing German experience to Albania can strengthen local capacities. As a result, he believes cooperation between the two countries can grow, since he views Europe as a closely connected space.

Similarly, Armand Shera, an architect based in Munich, presented their most ambitious project. He stated that the team is building a real car, with construction taking place in Germany.

However, he emphasized that they plan to launch the official presentation in Tirana. In addition, he said the prototype will be completed within one year for exhibition purposes.

Overall, the episode highlighted a growing trend. Young professionals are returning from abroad and investing skills, experience, and innovation in Albania.
