German Cultural Week 2026 will bring art, music, gastronomy and traditions to Tirana under the slogan “Culture Connects Us All,” as part of the International Cultural Weeks.
From October 2 to 6, the city will celebrate German culture through a diverse program of events. Since the launch of the International Cultural Weeks, organizers have dedicated the first week of October to Germany, coinciding with German Unity Day on October 3.
First, DIHA-Oktoberfest will open the program on October 2. The event will recreate the traditional Bavarian festival atmosphere with German beer, Bavarian food, live music and dancing in a venue decorated in the iconic blue and white colors of Oktoberfest.
Next, the Street Festival will take over the New Bazaar recreational square on October 3. German organizations will present their activities, while visitors will learn about study and scholarship opportunities in Germany and explore German-Albanian cooperation projects. Meanwhile, traditional specialties, fresh bread, local beer and live music by Munich-based band Gaudiblosn will create a festive atmosphere.
Later that day, Europa Park will host “Berlin Meets Tirana.” The event will blend electronic music inspired by Berlin’s club scene with German culture and Albanian hospitality, creating a vibrant urban cultural experience.
Finally, German Cultural Week will conclude on October 6 with the opening of the multimedia exhibition “Beyond Destruction” at Vila 31 x Art Explora. Documentary photographer Ilir Tsouko and writer Anja Troelenberg created the exhibition to highlight the climate crisis through personal stories from communities affected by environmental disasters. In addition, the exhibition aims to encourage dialogue on climate change, sustainability and resilient development in Albania.
