Gonxhja: Albania simplifies agrotourism licensing procedures

Tourism Minister Blendi Gonxhja said the government is simplifying licensing procedures for agrotourism. Authorities are working with the Agriculture Ministry under the “Mountain Package.”

Gonxhja said the goal is faster and easier procedures. The government wants to remove unnecessary administrative barriers. He added that officials are waiting for final feedback from interest groups.

He said farmers should develop integrated agrotourism activities. They can offer agricultural products, livestock goods, and hospitality services. Gonxhja stressed the role of local cuisine and domestic products in rural development.

He cited successful Albanian examples such as “Mrizi i Zanave” and “Kazerma e Ceremit.” He said these models created sustainable tourism products and boosted local employment.

Gonxhja added that agrotourism can become a competitive brand. He said expansion into multiple service points can promote Albania more widely.
