Gonzato: EU Remains Committed to Multilateralism and International Order

Representatives of the diplomatic corps and senior Albanian government officials gathered in Tirana to discuss how United Nations reform can deliver concrete improvements at the national level.

During the discussions, participants highlighted the important role of the UN both globally and in Albania.

Moreover, Silvio Gonzato stressed that the European Union remains firmly committed to supporting multilateralism and a rules-based international order, with the United Nations at its center.

In addition, Gonzato said today’s global challenges go beyond national borders. He mentioned conflicts, climate change, migration, and technological developments as key issues requiring international cooperation.

Furthermore, he emphasized that no country can address these challenges alone in a sustainable way. Therefore, he described support for the United Nations as a strategic necessity.

Finally, Gonzato called for renewed commitment to the founding principles of the UN, including peace, cooperation, solidarity, and human rights.
