Government approves three laws on European companies, EU alignment and business cooperation will improve

TIRANA, June 19 – The government has approved three new laws on European companies, Economy and Innovation Minister Delina Ibrahimaj announced. She said the measures aim to align Albanian legislation with European Union standards and strengthen cooperation between Albanian and European companies. Ibrahimaj said the package is part of a wider set of nine laws and added that it will ensure equal opportunities for Albanian and European commercial companies. She confirmed that the three laws were approved at the latest government meeting and relate to the statute of European companies.

She said the first law establishes a new legal framework that did not previously exist in Albania. Ibrahimaj added that the framework will facilitate cooperation between Albanian and European companies. Meanwhile, she explained that the second law regulates European cooperative companies. She said the third law covers European economic interest groupings. The minister added that these instruments introduce legal structures that the Albanian system did not previously provide.

Ibrahimaj said the three draft laws are expected to be approved by Parliament within July. She added that they will later be complemented by another legislative package currently awaiting final approval from the European Union.
