Guri: Albania Enters New Phase as Exporting Country

Deputy Minister Fatmir Guri speaks at the 4th Diaspora Summit. He focuses on agriculture and exports. First, he says Albania enters a new phase as a producer and exporter country.

In addition, he stresses the role of agriculture in the national economy. He links it to culture and identity. Meanwhile, he notes a new trend in European restaurants. Customers ask about the origin of food products.

Therefore, he says Albanian food represents economy, culture, and national identity. Moreover, he highlights the value of farmers and local businesses. He says quality and dignity define Albanian products abroad.

He also reports rising tourism in Albania. Around 12 million tourists visit the country in recent years. As a result, he says agro-food products gain more trust and recognition.

However, he warns that Albania must go beyond current progress. It must enter new markets, especially among the diaspora. Next, he calls for higher quality and stronger competitiveness. He says quantity alone is not enough.

Furthermore, he urges a shift from raw exports to branded products. He promotes a strong economic reputation for Albania. In addition, he says products must carry identity and territory. They should not remain anonymous goods.

Finally, he stresses stronger cooperation with the diaspora. He calls it a key network for promotion. He concludes that Albanian food is not just a product. It is territory, memory, craft, ambition, and culture.
