The Albanian State Police held a ceremony at its General Directorate to honor two U.S. diplomats at the end of their missions in Albania.
Police Director General Skënder Hita recognized the contributions of Deputy Chief of Mission Kathryn Hammond and Regional Security Officer Jonathan Ellis.
First, Hita praised both diplomats for strengthening strategic and operational cooperation between Albanian and U.S. law enforcement agencies. He said their work significantly supported the Albanian State Police.
He also highlighted their assistance in training, logistics, joint investigations, and intelligence sharing. In addition, he pointed to strong cooperation in combating terrorism, organized crime, financial crime, and cross-border crime.
As a result, he said joint efforts have produced steadily improving results in law enforcement.
Hita further stated that although their missions in Albania have ended, the friendship and partnership between the two countries will continue to grow. He also wished them success in their future roles.
Meanwhile, Kathryn Hammond and Jonathan Ellis expressed gratitude for their close cooperation with Albanian institutions and the State Police.
They praised the professionalism of the Albanian police leadership and said they have strong confidence in its capabilities.
In addition, they highlighted achievements in crime fighting, as well as the hospitality and support they received during their service in Albania.
Finally, they said their work in Albania represents one of the most positive professional experiences of their careers.
