A fire broke out at a hotel in Vlora early on August 16. Police said the incident happened at around 4:05 a.m. in the “10 Korriku” neighborhood.
Six tourists suffered injuries. Five were citizens of Kosovo, while one was from Rrëshen. Five of the injured tourists were taken to the Burns Hospital in Tirana for treatment. Two of them suffered significant burns.
Meanwhile, doctors are treating the sixth injured person at Vlora Regional Hospital. The fire also caused material damage to the hotel.
According to the investigation, an electrical socket caused the fire. Security camera footage showed that the socket of a refrigerator in the restaurant had caught fire.
The investigation continues under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office. Authorities are working to document the incident fully.
