Hoxha: Belgium’s New Embassy in Tirana Will Boost Bilateral Cooperation

Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha welcomed Belgium’s decision to open an embassy in Tirana, describing it as an important step that will strengthen relations between the two countries.

During an official visit to Brussels, Hoxha met with Maxime Prévot. The two officials reaffirmed the strong partnership between Albania and Belgium and discussed ways to expand bilateral cooperation.

Furthermore, Hoxha said the opening of the Belgian Embassy in Tirana will create new opportunities for economic cooperation, trade, investment and tourism. He also highlighted the potential for stronger collaboration in renewable energy and other key sectors.

In addition, the ministers discussed cooperation in justice and security, as well as the common challenges facing Europe in the current geopolitical environment.

Hoxha also underlined the important role of the Albanian community in Belgium, describing it as a valuable bridge that strengthens cultural, economic and people-to-people ties between the two countries.

Moreover, he expressed Albania’s gratitude for Belgium’s continued support for the European Union enlargement process and Albania’s membership bid. He noted that following the successful 8th Intergovernmental Conference, Albania has entered a new phase of its EU accession journey, focused on implementing reforms and advancing negotiations.

Finally, Hoxha voiced his commitment to maintaining close dialogue with his Belgian counterpart and invited Prévot to visit Albania in the near future.
