Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha received Anton Hofreiter, Chair of the German Bundestag’s Committee on European Union Affairs, in Tirana on Monday morning.
The Minister said in a post on X that the discussion provided a valuable opportunity to assess Albania’s progress through its ambitious reform agenda on the path towards EU membership.
“Germany has been one of Albania’s strongest and most consistent supporters throughout this journey. We greatly appreciate Germany’s support for a merit-based enlargement process and its leadership in promoting a credible European perspective for the Western Balkans,” Hoxha wrote on X.
The meeting also reaffirmed the excellent relations between Albania and Germany, as well as the importance of continued cooperation between the two countries, including through parliamentary exchanges.
According to Minister Hoxha, the shared objective of this cooperation remains a stronger and more united Europe.
