Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha met with France’s Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, René Troccaz, during his stay in Pržno, Montenegro.

The two officials discussed Albania’s European Union accession process, developments in the Western Balkans and the strategic importance of strengthening regional cooperation, connectivity and security.

Hoxha said Albania and France have built a strong partnership based on shared European values. He also highlighted France’s support for Albania’s European perspective.

“France’s continued support for Albania’s European path, as well as its active commitment to a credible and merit-based enlargement process, has strategic importance not only for Albania but also for the future of the Western Balkans and Europe as a whole,” Hoxha said.

He added that Albania remains committed to working closely with France to strengthen the region’s European perspective, consolidate stability and security, and bring the Western Balkans closer to the European Union in a firm and irreversible way.
