Hoxha Meets Wadephul: Reform Agenda Key to Albania’s European Future

Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha met with German Federal Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul today during the ministerial meeting of the Berlin Process in Pržno, Montenegro.

The two ministers held substantive talks focused on Albania’s European path.

Hoxha expressed his appreciation for Germany’s clear, consistent and continued support for the EU enlargement process and Albania’s membership in the European Union.

Hoxha said Germany’s strong support for a credible and merit-based enlargement process plays an important role in maintaining momentum and advancing the Western Balkans’ European perspective.

He said Albania’s ambitious reform agenda and its priorities for the next stage of accession negotiations remain key to the country’s European future.

“We remain fully committed to fulfilling our commitments and moving forward on the basis of merit. We will continue to work closely with Germany and our European partners toward a stronger, more united, safer and more sustainable Europe,” Hoxha said.
