Albania’s Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha praised the vital role of KFOR in maintaining peace, security and stability in Kosovo.
Hoxha made the remarks on Monday during a meeting with KFOR commander Özkan Ulutaş.
In a message shared on X, Hoxha thanked NATO member states involved in the mission. He highlighted their professionalism and commitment to providing a safe environment for all communities in Kosovo.
Meanwhile, he said KFOR has played a key role in addressing security challenges, especially in northern Kosovo.
He added that the mission has helped preserve stability and create conditions for dialogue, stronger institutions and long-term peace.
At the same time, Hoxha reaffirmed Albania’s support for NATO efforts in the region. He noted that Albania remains proud of its contribution to KFOR through its military contingent.
As a NATO member, Albania will continue to support Kosovo’s Euro-Atlantic aspirations, he said. Hoxha also stressed that Kosovo’s security remains closely linked to Albania’s national and regional security interests.
He added that a stable Kosovo directly supports peace and prosperity across the Western Balkans.
Looking ahead, Hoxha said KFOR’s presence remains essential. However, he noted that Kosovo’s long-term security will also depend on stronger and more professional local institutions.
He said continued support for Kosovo’s security capacities, in close coordination with NATO and international partners, remains crucial for a secure and stable region.
