Ibrahimaj: “Double Your Business” Programme Supports Companies Expanding Investments

Economy and Innovation Minister Delina Ibrahimaj visited a food production company today to highlight the opportunities offered by the “Double Your Business” programme.

The programme helps businesses increase investments, expand production, and create new jobs.

During her visit to a pastry company, Ibrahimaj met entrepreneur Fatmir, who has built his business in the sector for more than 15 years. They discussed his new investment plans, financing challenges, and future expansion opportunities.

“‘Double Your Business’ supports entrepreneurs like Fatmir, who have invested for years and are ready to grow further. Through lower interest rates, a Sovereign Guarantee, and support in preparing business plans, we help companies turn their ideas into successful projects,” Ibrahimaj said.

Furthermore, the minister said the government will continue supporting entrepreneurs across Albania by encouraging investment and economic growth.

“We will continue working with businesses across the country because every new investment creates more development, more jobs, and a stronger economy,” Ibrahimaj said.

The Albanian government launched the “Double Your Business” programme in cooperation with the Bank of Albania and commercial banks. The scheme includes a €250 million financing fund.

Through the programme, small and medium-sized enterprises and startups can access loans with preferential interest rates of 2–3%, which are lower than standard market rates.

In addition, the Sovereign Guarantee allows the state to cover up to 70% of collateral requirements for approved loans. This measure makes financing more accessible for businesses that need additional support.

The programme also provides expert assistance to help companies prepare business plans and investment projects.

Businesses can apply through participating commercial banks. They can use the funding to increase production capacity, adopt new technologies, modernise operations, and create employment opportunities.

Overall, the programme aims to encourage private investment, improve productivity, and strengthen the competitiveness of Albania’s economy.
