“In the Footsteps of the Berat Codices” Exhibition Draws Visitors to Onufri Museum

The exhibition “In the Footsteps of the Berat Codices” opened today at the Onufri Iconographic Museum as part of the International Museum Day celebrations.

The National Museum Center of Berat organized the exhibition in cooperation with the General Directorate of Archives. As a result, the event attracted both local and foreign tourists who visited the museum today.

Through the displayed materials, visitors explored the history, artistic value and exceptional importance of the Berat Codices. These rare manuscripts represent one of the most valuable testimonies of Albania’s documentary and spiritual heritage. The Central State Archive preserves the codices as part of the country’s national memory.

Furthermore, the exhibition highlighted the historical and cultural importance of the codices. It also emphasized their role in preserving Albania’s cultural identity.

At the same time, the exhibition brought attention to the deep connection between the manuscripts and the cultural and religious history of Berat. For centuries, the city has served as an important center of art, faith and knowledge.

Finally, the National Museum Center of Berat praised its cooperation with the General Directorate of Archives in organizing the exhibition. The institution also thanked visitors who joined the event dedicated to one of Albania’s most important national heritage treasures.
