Increase in Visitors to Durrës Historical Monuments in 2026

The first quarter of 2026 has brought a noticeable increase in the number of visitors to some of the most important historical monuments in Durrës.

According to data from the Museum Center, during this period, the Venetian Tower of Durrës was visited by around 900 people, while the Durrës Amphitheatre welcomed over 2,000 visitors.

Museum Center specialist Ina Ajazi emphasized that interest in these sites remains high.

At the Venetian Tower, visitors have the opportunity to explore the more than 3,000-year-old history of the ancient city through virtual presentations.

Ajazi noted that in the coming months, an even greater increase in visitor numbers is expected.

According to her, developments and tensions in the Middle East are likely to positively impact tourism in Albania and the region, which are increasingly perceived as safe destinations for international tourists.

Tourism specialists emphasize that this represents a good opportunity for further promotion of cultural heritage and for extending the tourist season beyond the summer months.
