TIRANA, August 10 – Albania’s annual inflation rate rose to 3.4% in July 2026, from 2.5% in July 2025. Consumer prices also increased by 0.2% from June.
According to INSTAT data, food and non-alcoholic beverages made the largest contribution to annual inflation at 1.18 percentage points. The group covering housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels followed with 0.83 percentage points.
Transport recorded the highest annual price increase at 8%. Entertainment, sport and culture followed at 6%, while insurance and financial services rose by 4.5%. Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels increased by 4.1%.
Food and non-alcoholic beverage prices rose by 3.5% year-on-year. Furniture, household equipment and household maintenance also became more expensive, with prices rising by 3.3%. However, clothing and footwear prices fell by 1.8%. Information and communication prices declined by 0.9%.
Transport also recorded the largest monthly increase, with prices rising by 4.7% from June. Housing-related prices increased by 0.6%, while entertainment, sport and culture rose by 0.4%. Furniture and household equipment prices increased by 0.3%.
Meanwhile, food and non-alcoholic beverage prices fell by 0.5% compared with the previous month.
