Interior Minister Ervin Demo met Sweden’s ambassador to Albania, Niklas Strom, to discuss community policing and stronger public trust in the State Police.
Demo highlighted cooperation with Sweden as important for building a police service that stays closer to citizens. He stressed the importance of listening to their concerns and responding professionally.
Meanwhile, he said Swedish support for community policing can strengthen trust between citizens and the State Police. Albanian Interior minister identified several areas for cooperation, including responses to domestic violence, work with schools and the involvement of municipalities in addressing security concerns.
Demo thanked Sweden for its continued support. He said the cooperation can help build a more accountable police service that responds to citizens and their needs.
