Albania’s Ministry of Interior has declared two North Macedonian citizens persona non grata over activities deemed harmful to Albania’s national security and public order. The two individuals have been identified as Valon Bela and Bekir Halimi.
The measure imposed on both individuals is reported to be a 10-year entry ban, while Valon Bela has also been issued a deportation order.
The decision was made after Bela and Halimi were suspected of carrying out activities against the Albanian state that are considered contrary to the country’s national security interests and detrimental to its constitutional order.
According to sources, the decision was taken under Article 104/1 (a) and (b) of Albania’s Law on Foreigners.
