Archbishop Joan of Tirana, Durrës and All Albania has attended the International Scientific Conference organised by the Ecumenical Patriarchate. The Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania shared details and images from the conference, noting that its theme is “The Holy and Great Council of the Orthodox Church (2016–2026): Assessments and Perspectives”.
The conference brings together hierarchs, representatives of Orthodox Churches and academics. It is being held in Chantilly, France, from 5 to 8 October, marking the 10th anniversary of the Holy and Great Council of the Orthodox Church, which was held in Crete in 2016.
“The proceedings of the conference began on Monday, with the official opening conducted by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. The discussions focus on assessing the decade following the Holy and Great Council of 2016 and examining future prospects for unity and cooperation within the Orthodox world,” the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania said in its post.
