Italian Media Names Albania Among Europe’s Top Budget Holiday Destinations for 2026

Italian media outlet Quotidian Post.it has ranked Albania among Europe’s top 10 destinations for affordable summer holidays in 2026.

Travel experts selected the destinations for their combination of natural beauty, quality experiences and reasonable prices.

The report says travelers can still enjoy memorable holidays on a limited budget by choosing less crowded destinations, booking early and traveling outside peak periods.

It highlights Albania as one of Europe’s most affordable destinations. In recent years, the country has become a favorite choice for visitors seeking beautiful beaches, unspoiled nature, rich history and authentic cuisine at competitive prices.

The article recommends visiting Ksamil and Saranda for their crystal-clear waters, as well as the UNESCO World Heritage city of Berat and Butrint National Park, one of the Mediterranean’s most important archaeological sites.

Visitors can enjoy the Albanian Riviera, join excursions, explore UNESCO sites, discover picturesque towns and villages, and experience the country’s natural and cultural heritage.

The report also recommends tasting traditional Albanian dishes, including byrek, fresh seafood, qofte and baklava.

Quotidian Post.it ranked Albania sixth on its list of the 10 best-value European destinations for summer 2026, alongside destinations in Italy, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Poland and Portugal.
