Nature tourism continues to grow in Albania as more visitors choose national parks and protected areas to explore the country’s natural heritage.
In a video message shared on social media, Environment Minister Sofjan Jaupaj highlighted several natural destinations that visitors can explore at the weekend, including Divjakë-Karavasta National Park, Llogara National Park, and the Albanian Alps.
Jaupaj said Divjakë-Karavasta allows visitors to explore its lagoon, forests, and rich biodiversity, including the Dalmatian pelican. In Llogara, “the mountains meet the sea,” while the Albanian Alps offer spectacular landscapes in the north.
“Visit Divjakë-Karavasta National Park and explore its lagoon, forest, and Dalmatian pelicans. Visit Llogara National Park, where the mountains meet the sea, or head to the Albanian Alps for extraordinary nature and landscapes,” Jaupaj said.
He added that visitor centers operate across these areas. Protected Area administrations also remain on the ground to guide visitors and introduce them to each park’s natural values.
Jaupaj said Albania’s nature tourism sector is growing alongside the number of visitors exploring protected areas.
“This is a great opportunity, but it also brings responsibility for everyone,” the minister said.
He urged visitors to protect nature during their trips. He called on them not to leave waste, light fires, or disturb wildlife and natural habitats.
“This Sunday, choose nature, enjoy it, but also protect it,” Jaupaj said.
