Justice Minister Gogu meets chief of the Special Anti-Corruption Structure to strengthen law and rule of law

TIRANA, April 3 – Justice Minister Toni Gogu met with the chief of the Special Anti-Corruption Structure, Klodjan Braho, to discuss the functioning of Albania’s justice system.

The talks focused on inter-institutional cooperation in key areas. Gogu highlighted improving the legal framework, strengthening institutional capacities, providing infrastructure support, and increasing the efficiency of the system.

The minister said a central point of cooperation will address existing legal gaps. These include issues related to prosecutors’ status, procedural powers, and international cooperation. Coordination in public policy and the consolidation of standards and practices that ensure legal certainty and public trust also featured in discussions.

Gogu described the Special Anti-Corruption Structure as a key institution in fighting organised crime and corruption. He linked its role to strengthening the rule of law and advancing Albania’s European integration process.

He said cooperation with the structure and other justice institutions will fully respect the separation of powers and institutional independence. The goal is a justice system that is more functional, reliable, and efficient for citizens.
