Kokona invites diaspora to invest in Albania’s transformation

The Director of the Albanian Investment Corporation, Elira Kokona, called on the diaspora to trust Albania and take part in its transformation during the Albanian Diaspora Summit in Tirana.

She said the summit builds real bridges with the diaspora, not abstract ideas. She invited Albanians abroad to invest in the country and become co-builders of its future. She emphasized that Albania is not being built only for those living inside the country.

Kokona said the diaspora brings experience, international networks, and new work standards. She said this capital is not only financial but also intellectual. She added that the diaspora can invest in concrete projects developed by the Albanian Investment Corporation.

She highlighted projects such as Durana Tech Park and Expo Albania. She said these initiatives aim to create innovation ecosystems and international partnerships.

Kokona said Albania is transforming unused public assets into development engines. She pointed to projects like Lift and Void Tower as examples of turning abandoned buildings into modern economic assets.

She stressed that the Albanian economy is growing steadily and that the investment climate is stable.

She said the Albanian Investment Corporation is a new tool for economic development. It identifies unused public assets and turns them into investable projects. It also builds financial models and opens opportunities for co-investment with the private sector.

Kokona said the corporation manages a portfolio worth over 1 billion euros, with more than 85 active projects. She said the state now acts not only as a regulator but also as a co-developer in economic projects.
