TIRANA, July 29 – Kosova Interior Minister Xhelal Sveçla, Kosova Intelligence Agency (KIA) Director Petrit Ajeti and Minister of Local Government Administration Elbert Krasniqi visited Kalludër e Vogël village in Zubin Potok on Tuesday.
The officials inspected the site where authorities continue excavations after locating a suspected mass grave. Investigators have found human remains and clothing items that are believed to belong to 23 intellectuals from Mitrovica who went missing during the war of 1999.
After the visit, Sveçla said security institutions discovered the site through intensive work and cooperation with citizens. He added that teams continue both excavation and investigative work to identify those responsible.
Meanwhile, Sveçla said institutions will continue efforts to clarify the fate of people who disappeared during the war. He also said authorities will work to bring those responsible for the alleged crimes before justice.
Competent teams continue excavations in Kalludër e Vogël. Authorities said investigations are underway to identify the victims and fully document the case.
Earlier, Kosova Police arrested two people suspected of involvement in the disappearance of the 23 intellectuals from Mitrovica.
