Kosova Prime Minister Albin Kurti said he met American Congressman George Latimer during his stay in New York. They discussed developments in Kosova, cooperation with the United States and regional security. Kurti said the talks focused on economic development, security and strengthening Kosova’s international position.
Meanwhile, the two also discussed the U.S. military presence in Kosova. Kurti reiterated his government’s position that Camp Bondsteel should become a permanent U.S. military base. He said the proposal would serve peace, stability and long-term security in the region.
The talks also covered people who went missing during the recent war in Kosova. Kurti referred to mass graves, the need to declassify documents and Serbia’s archives. He also stressed the need for justice for crimes committed during the war.
