“Kulla Hupi” in Bulqiza stands as a notable example of agribusiness development. The project combines the efforts of a rural entrepreneur with government support through the Agency for Agricultural and Rural Development (AZHBR).
Prime Minister Edi Rama shared images of the agribusiness on social media today. The site has become one of the area’s most visited agritourism destinations.
“A beautiful morning from Kulla Hupi in Bulqiza,” Rama said as he shared images of the traditional hospitality and spectacular mountain landscape.
With a 230-year history, “Kulla Hupi” now welcomes hundreds of domestic and foreign visitors. The guesthouse has also placed Dushaj village in Fushë-Bulqiza on Albania’s tourism map.
Meanwhile, the transformation of rural areas into attractive destinations has encouraged the development of agritourism as a new model of rural development in Albania.
The Tower Revitalization Program is also helping integrate historic towers into the tourism chain. The initiative links cultural heritage, tourism and sustainable development and currently covers four counties and 14 municipalities in northern Albania.
