The “Kurti 4” government was approved with 62 votes in favour and eight against during an extraordinary session of the Kosovo Assembly.
Following the vote, the new government cabinet was sworn in.
The session was held after Assembly Speaker Albulena Haxhiu declared the Assembly constituted without a deputy speaker from the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK). The Vetëvendosje Movement subsequently submitted Albin Kurti’s name to her office as its nominee for prime minister and the formation of the government.
Haxhiu gave Kurti the mandate, after which an extraordinary session was called to vote on the new government.
MPs from the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) were not present at the session in which the government was voted on. MPs from the Vetëvendosje Movement, the Serb List and representatives of several communities were present.
Following Albin Kurti’s speech, during which he presented the composition of the government and its plans for the next four years, the cabinet was put to a vote. The government received 62 votes in favour and eight against from Serb List MPs.
