Kosovo will benefit from €206.4 million in European Union funding, according to acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
The EU’s IPA Committee approved Kosovo’s proposed projects under the IPA 2026 and IPA 2027 programmes, worth €180.5 million. In addition, three grants from the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF), totaling €25.9 million, received approval.
The funds will support key sectors, including environment and climate, energy, border management and migration, competitiveness, education and employment, good governance, EU alignment and the rule of law.
Around half of the funding will finance infrastructure investments, with many projects implemented in cooperation with development partners and supported through institutional co-financing.
The approved WBIF grants will support technical assistance for the Ibër-Lepenc water system, preparation of the Qafë e Duhlës–Banullë highway segment, and a wastewater treatment plant in Podujevë, which will receive a €24.3 million investment grant in cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
Kurti welcomed the EU support and said the funds will contribute to citizens’ needs and Kosovo’s development.
