Kurti: No domestic or international court can Tarnish the KLA

Prime minister-designate Albin Kurti has said that no domestic or international court can tarnish the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA).

Presenting his programme to the Kosovo Assembly, Kurti said that everyone was anxiously awaiting the Specialist Chambers’ ruling on September 16 concerning former KLA leaders.

He said the prosecution’s request was unjust and unbelievable because it was inconsistent with the historical truth.

“These days, we are all anxious ahead of the court ruling concerning KLA leaders Hashim Thaçi, Jakup Krasniqi, Rexhep Selimi and Kadri Veseli. The prosecution’s request is unjust and unbelievable because it is at odds with the historical truth of our people, with justice and with our liberation struggle. The position of the government that I lead is the same and is clear. Crimes against humanity, war crimes and genocide against the Albanian civilian population were committed in Kosovo. They were committed by Milošević’s Yugoslav regime. No domestic or international court can tarnish the KLA,” he said.
