The event marked the handover of command of the U.S. Army Regional Support Group – Balkans to Colonel Kurt A. Rorvik. The unit operates within the U.S. Army Europe structure.

In addition, the group provides technical oversight, expertise, and support to KFOR’s Regional Command East based at Camp Bondsteel.

During the ceremony, officials emphasized the role of the United States and the KFOR mission. They said both have played, and continue to play, an irreplaceable role in maintaining peace, security, and stability in Kosovo and the wider region.
