Lamallari Calls for Stronger Coordination and Greater Presence in the Field

Interior Minister Besfort Lamallari met with Albania’s 12 regional prefects to discuss key priorities for the months ahead.

The participants focused on strengthening interinstitutional coordination and increasing the presence of public institutions in local communities.

Lamallari identified public safety, the smooth running of the tourism season, and the prevention and management of civil emergencies, especially wildfires, as top priorities.

Moreover, he stressed the need for effective cooperation among institutions to deliver faster and better results.

The minister also reviewed the work of Local Public Security Councils. He called on all responsible institutions to increase their engagement and improve coordination.

“There is no room for routine administration. We need continuous coordination, rapid response and concrete results for citizens,” Lamallari said.

Furthermore, he noted that citizens judge institutions by the level of security they feel and the quality of services they receive.

Therefore, he urged every institution to meet its responsibilities and remain active on the ground.

At the end of the meeting, Lamallari highlighted the important role of prefects as government representatives in the regions. He said they play a key role in coordinating institutions, implementing public policies and delivering tangible results for citizens.
