Local government minister Demo meets UN coordinator to strengthen municipal cooperation

TIRANA, April 3 – State Minister for Local Government Ervin Demo met United Nations Resident Coordinator Ingrid MacDonald. They discussed cooperation on local governance in Albania. The meeting focused on ongoing reforms.

Both sides reviewed existing cooperation between Albanian institutions and the United Nations. They focused on building the capacities of local units. They also discussed sustainable development and better public services. These areas remain key priorities.

Demo stressed the need for strong inter-institutional coordination. He said this will help advance local reforms. It will also support shared strategic goals. Meanwhile, MacDonald confirmed continued United Nations support. She highlighted projects that improve governance and service delivery.
