Metani in US, focus on strengthening integrity in justice system

Inspektori i Lartë i Drejtësisë Artur Metani held an official visit in the United States. First, he visited the Department of Justice through the OPDAT program. He met senior officials from U.S. justice institutions.

Next, he held talks with OPDAT Deputy Director George Huber and Regional Director Pragna Soni. He also met legal advisors and inspectors supporting Albania.

Then, discussions focused on judicial integrity and professionalism. Both sides addressed anti-corruption efforts and organized crime.

Moreover, Metani emphasized stronger inspection and accountability mechanisms. He stressed ethical and professional standards for judges and prosecutors.

In addition, he highlighted judicial independence. He said it is essential for the rule of law and democracy in Albania. After that, participants reviewed progress in justice reforms. They expressed support for continued cooperation and technical assistance.

Finally, both sides agreed to deepen institutional collaboration. They aim to strengthen public trust and improve the justice system in Albania.
